California Christmas

The boys and I went to California to visit family there before Christmas. It was so nice to be in the sun again before returning to negative temperatures and snow! We spent time at the beach, took some small hikes, and visited Jaxon’s Dad’s avocado farm! It was a good trip with lots of great memories made, despite quite a few challenges.

There is always a price to pay, but living a life you love means focusing on the positive! It’s not easy when your three year old screams for 15 minutes on the plane, but sometimes you have to put your headphones on and (attempt to) Zen out…. (Hope everyone else had headphones.) Sometimes that same three year old throws a full-on tantrum in the Chicago airport (on both trips) and you have to just step to the side and pretend you’re not on the verge of doing the same!

I will always admit I don’t feel like I love my life when I’m sleep deprived and dealing with a sleep deprived three year old, but when you get through the hard part, and arrive at the beach (or back to your own bed) it all pays off. I wouldn’t trade the memories we made for anything!
